E-mail setup for Mac Mail
Follow our step-by-step guide to set up your e-mail account for Mac Mail.

Step 3

Enter your name in the Name box.
This is the name your contacts will see when you e-mail them. -
Enter your e-mail address in the Email Address box.
This is the e-mail address that you have been provided by Datacenta. -
Enter your password in the Password box.
You must enter the password exactly as it was given to you. Make sure upper-case and lower-case letters are in the right place. -
Click Sign In.
This will cause an error to pop up but don't worry, we'll fix that in the next step.

Step 4

Some new boxes should have appeared. Enter your Username in the User Name box.
This must be the Username provided to you by Datacenta. - Ensure Account Type is IMAP.

Enter your Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server details in their respective boxes.
These details will have been provided to you by Datacenta. -
Click Sign In and then Next.
Don't worry if there is still an error at this point.

Step 5
- Close the Internet Accounts window you have open.

From the Mail menu, click Preferences.
- At the left, click the account you just created.
- Click Server Settings.
- Click on the tick box next to Automatically manage connection settings.

Step 6
- In the Port box enter 587.
- From the Authentication box, choose Password.
- Ensure that Use TLS/SSL is ticked.
- Click Save.
Congratulations!
Your new e-mail address should now be up and running!
